Project Title:

EU Public & Cultural diplomacy in China

The project seeks to build a more favorable environment for EU-China dialogues and strengthen bilateral relations. The project focuses on promoting the EU's values, policies, and principles through cultural and academic exchanges, engaging with Chinese stakeholders, and fostering long-term partnerships. Through a mix of social media, digital content, and public diplomacy activities, the project aims to improve the EU’s image and credibility, particularly among Chinese youth, opinion leaders, and cultural institutions.

- Bachelor’s degree in cultural studies, international relations, event management, communications or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
- Understanding of the EU and its member states is desirable 
- Strong understanding of Chinese bureaucratic procedures for payments and event hosting, with knowledge of local regulations and administrative processes in China.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese, both written and verbal; other EU languages will be considered as an asset. 
- Computer-literacy with mastery of the MS office suit.
- Previous experience in planning and executing public events and conferences will be considered an asset

At least 2 working experience (including internships) in administrative work, finance, events management or other relevant fields.

At least 1 year of experience in the field of communication (including internships).

- You have a genuine interest in the EU and in EU-China relationships, empathy, professionalism and dynamism.
- You have the ability to navigate complex cultural and political landscapes, particularly in the context of EU-China relations.
- You enjoy building and nurturing strong working relationships over time with a variety of stakeholders.
- You pride yourself in delivering high quality results within sometimes difficult timeframes.
- You are very “hands-on” and you are comfortable juggling priorities;
- You are a proactive problem solver with a can-do attitude;
- Above all, you are a true team player with a friendly, open personality and a sense of humour.
