Project Title:

EU Policy and Outreach Partnership (EUPOP) in Argentina and Brazil

The EU Policy and Outreach Partnership (EUPOP) in Argentina and Brazil project consists of a series of Public and Cultural Diplomacy activities to be implemented across both countries and building upon the work already initiated under the previous EUPOP LATAM (Phases I and II) projects. The project assistant (PA), based in Brasilia, plays a supporting role in the project's success, ensuring the sound implementation of the components and its activities in Brasil, including events management, logistical and administrative tasks. S/he will work closely with the team from Brasilia’s project office. It will report to the Project Manager in Brussels, Belgium. 


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

- University degree in areas relevant to the assignment (i.e. International Relation, Political Sciences, Economics, Law);
- Good communication and facilitation skills;
- Fluency in Portuguese (mother tongue or C2 level); Advance level in English and Spanish (C1 level);
- Strong computer literacy.

- S/he have a keen interest in the fields of communication, public diplomacy, outreach; and you demonstrate extracurricular activities;
- S/he is interested in development consultancy, European Union related matters, and communicating in the EU;
- S/he is willing to develop yourself in project management, in technical and financial backstopping;
- S/he is committed to develop herself/himself in the field of outreach, communication and public diplomacy; s/he is willing to specialize in different aspects of these fields based on the interests and needs of our team;
- S/he enjoys doing research and connecting dots;
- S/he has good writing skills, and s/he is interested in translating your know-how and research into written documents with a creative approach;
- S/he has excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal; Portuguese and have an advanced level of Spanish, any other language will be considered as an asset;
- S/he is computer-literate and independent with MS office applications;
- S/he has a can-do attitude and you enjoy multitasking;
Above all, s/he is a true team player with a friendly and open personality.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The project assistant will have the responsibility to support the team in the implementation of the project including events management, logistical and administrative tasks. The focus will be in Brazil based activities, but will also be involved in overall implementation of the regional project. Primary responsibilities include:
- S/he will be responsible for helping the team understand the context of the project with timely research and networking activities. S/he is expected to map the relevant actors, main stakeholders and counterparts’ agendas (e.g. following So-Me channels…);
- S/he will monitor national key events, actors, follow relevant social media channel, and be informed of the agendas of pro-active actors and key stakeholder;
